Who is GAF?
GAF was founded in 1886 and is currently North America’s largest roofing manufacturer with sales over $3 billion. There are over a dozen residential roofing brands available in the U.S. Did you know that 1 out of every 4 are installed using GAF products?
In 2011, GAF was the first roofing manufacturer to offer a Lifetime (50 Year) Warranty on all of its laminated shingles. Then in 2012, GAF introduced their Lifetime Roofing System.
Timberline HDZ is North America’s #1 selling shingle. Because of their high standards and reputation in the industry, GAF is able to offer the highest level of roofing certifications and warranties available.
What Does Master Elite Mean?
A Master Elite Certification from GAF is the highest level of roofing certifications available in the roofing industry. To gain this certification, contractors need to be:
•Minimum (7) Years of Experience
•$1 Million+ in Liability Insurance
•Workers Compensation
•Properly Licensed
•Good Standing with Better Business Bureau
•Good Credit Rating (Verified through Experian)
•Yearly Training Required
•Proven Track Record of Customer Satisfaction
Only 2% of all roofing companies qualify as Master Elite. This means that out of the 2,000 roofing companies in Michigan, only 40 are able to meet GAF’s high quality standards.
Peace of Mind Warranties
There are (3) levels of warranties that we offer as a GAF Master Elite Certified Roofing Contractor:
System Plus Warranty
The entry level extended roof warranty option that protects against material defects for (50) years – on the shingles only. GAF does not cover contractor workmanship with this warranty. A minimum of (3) different GAF product accessories must be installed to qualify*.
Silver Pledge Warranty
Mid-level warranty option that protects against material defects for (50) years on the shingles and all accessories used. GAF covers contractor workmanship for (10) years including tear-off, re-installation and disposal, if necessary. A minimum of (4) GAF product accessories must be installed to qualify*.
Golden Pledge Warranty
The highest level warranty available and the strongest available in the entire industry. GAF protects against material defects for (50) years, but also covers contractor workmanship for a full (25) years – including tear-off, re-installation and disposal, if necessary. All (5) GAF product accessories must be used to qualify*.
*The following items qualify as ‘required accessories’ from the warranties listed above:

›Felt / Synthetic Felt
›Exhaust Ventilation (Ridge Vent or Can Vents)
›Starter Shingles
›Cap Shingles
